Well, I have decided to sell my new BMI 12 string Universal Keyless steel guitar. I find the keyless steel is not for me. This steel was custom built for me by Don Fritsche of the BMI Steel Guitar company last summer. I received this steel in September of 2008. The name plate comes right off the steel.

The steel has only been played 4 times. I played it once at my church, once at the Baxter Springs, KS steel show last October, once at a Cowboy barbeque with my brother's band last fall, and this April 23, 2009 at the Siloam Springs, AR steel show.

It has never been played in a smoke environment. Most of the time the steel has set in my music room in the back of my house and it was played very little. My son and I have two other steels, a 14 string and 10 string BMI steels.

The steel has the standard Nashville E9th/B6th Universal tuning. This is the famous tuning that Jeff Newman used. It has 7 floor pedals and 5 knee pedals. One pedal is the standard vertical Bb that lowers strings 5 and 10 from B to Bb.

The steel has the famous Gene Turner "Power Boost" pickup installed on it. It has a BMI standard case with it. As can be seen by the pictures it has the half paded rear neck and it is a beautiful Cherry Red.

This steel lists for around $2980 and I will let the steel go for $2400. I am located in Southwest, MO.

Call 417-468-2102.

Thanks and may GOD bless!

Terry Wood

Guys,
This is a great steel. Terry has been playing a keyed model for 30 years and he has had trouble getting used to playing a keyless. This is a great sounding steel and Terry is wanting to get another 14 string from us. This is a great buy and in awesome condition.

Terry, sent email to you. Also can you post pics of undercarriage and is this a triple coil that's installed? Thanks and GOD BLESS.

Beautiful offspring, "chip off the old block" I see. I got one myself.

I thought all the BMI keyless tuned from both ends? tune raises at the changer end and lowers at the tuner end? The ones I've owned did.

In my original posting, I had posted that this model lists for $2900. I was mistaken this particular model Keyless BMI now lists for $2980.

This is a great steel guitar, however this model it is just not for me and that's why I have decided to part with it.

Thanks for the interest.

Jack,
The one that Terry has is a All-Pull Keyless. We make a Push-Pull model which tunes at both ends. The changer end raises, and the keyless end lowers.

Bump for a great buy on a 12 string Universal keyless!

This has got everything on it, padded half neck to rest arms and hands on, with the custom Gene Turner famous "Power Boost Pickup" 5 knees and 7 floor pedals. You can play E9th, B6, or the combination of either tuning while playing your favorite song.

Thanks and GOD bless!

This steel is a great guitar and is in excellent condition.

It is about $600-$700 below the current list price for a new one like it and there would be shipping and insurance on a new one if you bought it too.

This is a great buy guys! The keyless models are just not for me and I may go ahead with the 14 stringer too.
