I've had this amp for 20+ years. A few years ago it finally shot craps altogether, and I ditched it to the basement. I picked up a Steel King and with lots of input on this Forum, got it dialed in pretty good. With all the discussion on these boards about old Fender Twins, I couldn't stand it anymore and shipped mine off to Ken Fox. I wanted someone that knew their stuff AND had the perspective of a steel player.
I had a business transaction, with Ken, that was beyond my expectations. Many emails and phone calls about what I wanted and what Ken was doing, with his thoughts. He even fixed the dent in the face plate!!
What I just recieved back, is a Blackface Twin Reverb that has never sounded as good as it does now. As has been stated on this Forum, INCREDIBLE tone for a steel guitar!!! It was a quick turn around as well.
The Steel King will still have its place, but MAN, those freakin' tubes!!!!

Thanks Ken! Gotta love the Forum!!

Oh Yea, might have to look at new cabinets. Twin has 2 - EVM 12S speakers! OUCH!

Way cool Mike, i should have my Vibrosonic back from Ken next week. The detail ken does is awesome--stuff that alot of techs would miss, or just say"close enough".

EV's huh? you might want to install a trailer hitch on that amp. Winking

When your amp is in the hands of Ken Fox, there's no such things as not being satisfied! This man is a genius at electronics, and he really knows his stuff when it comes to bringing amps to performing at their very best. Solid state, or old P.T.P. tube amps, Ken is absolutely amazing!

...likewise, about a month ago, I sent an old Silvertone 1482 to Ken for some repairs and upgrades.

Thanks to Ken and FedEx, I had the amp back in about a week total turnaround time.

Amp sounds fabulous and kicks major butt with lap, slide or elec. guitar. Ken's service is quick and he keeps in contact throughout the entire project.

He'll get my next one, that's for sure Exclamation Cool

Ken is a very close friend of mine, what he feels about AMPS a book could be written on him, his history and love of his work sets him aside from all others. He will not quit till it is right. If one gets to much he starts back next day with a new approch. Also he has a very nice shop to work in an off spring of his love for the work he does.

Finally made the new baffle and put in the 15" Eminence Speaker out of my FSK. My first attempt at grill cloth. Couple of wrinkles, but at least its straight. LOL! Got to play it out this past weekend. WOW! Sounds like a dream!
Thanks again Ken. Tell JD, yea way, to center a 15" speaker in a Twin. Very Happy
Been playin' it in stereo with my FSK, in my music room. The Line 6 Echo Park can be stereo, and the Ping Pong setting pans between the two amps. Way HUGE! I'll have to try that in the right venue.
It's a manageable 71 lbs.
