I find myself thinking that a lot lately. Mostly while watching youtube videos. Sure there are some amazingly talented players out there, but really. There is a lot of I'mgonnaplayingwaytomanynotesinanattempttoimpresseveryotherplayerwhomightlistentome going on.

What ever happened to good taste?

Just my thought for the day.

Bill -

I share your sentiments wholeheartedly. Of the current crop of acknowledged monster players, I must give a nod to Buck Reid - to name but one - for taste and conception. The "less is more" approach is alive and well even though we might have to do some digging in order to find it. It's a shame that there isn't a whole bunch more of it.

on the other hand...you tube has turned up so many talented players, young and old, fast and slow, it's a humbling experience!
