Sat watching the Jools Holland show on BBC2 last evening and lo and behold there was a guy playing a ShoBud in Lily Allen's backing band. Who was he and does her nusic often feature steel?

Martin's dad did alright. I'm pretty sure that's her only song in this style ie with steel.

Well, enough about Lily, check out the infinitely more talented and lovely (and less potty-mouthed) Ivy York at www.ivyyork.com, if you hunt around you'll hear BJ Cole (on "Cowboy") and, well, me (on "The More I Have"). Sorry for the hijack but for the last year we haven't been able to open a newspaper without seeing Miss Allen pouring herself out of another nightclub mid twitter, so I'm nicking a column inch in the name of decent music and proper songwriting. Just to clarify, because after my previous attempt to derail this topic on to someone worthy it's not clear who is being referred to: Brian has somewhat coyly introduced the subject of Lily Allen's nipples, not anyone else's. Rolling Eyes

One reason I follow this forum is specifically NOT to read about Lily Allen, and here I am clarifying her nipple status - oh the bitter irony!

Unfortunately to hear the steeler I would have to hear Lily Allen (Let us give thanks for voice correction software!)

I have to admit that I like this better than anything I hear on "country" radio. I also like her accent better than the exaggerated southern accents that are so popular with the record companies these days. Good for Lily Allen giving a steel player the gig and prominently featuring him on live on TV. Looks like a fun job to me.
