Has anyone tried it yet? It seems to be faster than others I've tried. If there are pitfalls you know of, please let me know before I go to the trouble of transfering data.
Thanks...Bill _________________ Bill Ford S12 CLR, S12 Lamar keyless, Misc amps&toys Sharp Covers

I tried it and it's okay. I use it for testing my websites sometimes. However, there's too many things about Firefox I like better (like the Google toolbar) that Opera doesn't have. Good browser though. |

No pitfalls. I think the reason it's always been #3 is because (a) it wasn't Netscape or IE and (b) it cost money at a time when even Netscape was free.
A lot of the original Netscape users went Netscape > Mozilla Suite > Firefox. I know I did.
Opera is free now, obviously. It has a devoted following, and yes it is very fast. Opera Mini & Opera Mobile are used in a lot of places, like the Nintendo Wii and most smartphones. |

I have switched to Opera from firefox. I have deleted Firefox. Maybe someday when they get it straight I' ll switch back.
I like Opera a lot. No problems. _________________ heavily medicated for your safety |

Every time I get Firefox setup like I want it, they upgrade/change it and then something has to be reupdated. Been using Opera for about a week now, I think I'm gonna do what Ken said.
Thanks for the input.Bill _________________ Bill Ford S12 CLR, S12 Lamar keyless, Misc amps&toys Sharp Covers

Bill. One thing you should do before you delete Firefox is to export your bookmarks to a file on your computer. That way Opera will find them and add it to itself. If you do not, you may lose them.
I think you can move them over from firefox as well before you delete it. _________________ heavily medicated for your safety |

Ken,
That is one reason I'm getting rid of Firefox, every time I upgrade, all my bookmarks disappear. Don't know if it's me,or the program.

I have been using and upgrading Firefox since version 1.x and have never lost any bookmarks, cookies, or sign-ons. The only things that have been lost are incompatible add-ons/extensions, or themes. If they are updated I get them back. Sometimes one can cheat a little and force an old extension to work in a newer version of FF, by means of a hack to a file. _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum
