Has anyone picked up the new CD from Dale yet?
This may not be country enough for some of you but for me it really don't get much better than this.

Dale has long been one of my favorites and he can still lay down some great tracks.

five stars from me. *****

Gets five from me too, driving around in my rental car, boppin' to Dale. Probably my favorite current country singer. I'm surprised you think it wouldn't pass the "country enough" test.

Tommorow night he will be at the "Rhythm Room" here in Phoenix...playing to a small but appreciative crowd...he puts on a GREAT show, so if your in the area make sure to be there.

Can't wait to hear his new CD's material!! Whoa!

In my opinion,Mr Watson is the GREATEST country honky tonk singer we have today,he's light years ahead of ANYTHING else out there. If there was ANY justice in the so-called awards shows,he should be artist of the year. DYKBC.

Obviously no one in the record business has a clue what traditional country fans want or what traditional country music is. If so, they would have promoted Dale to the top of the heap. But like the NEWSWEEK article said ~ he is just not blond, blue eyed, real young and with a cute butt (THEY WERE JUST TALKING ABOUT THE GUYS). Talent, showmanship, originality, and appreciation of the heritage of the music just sort of take a back seat because they are in the pop business and not the country business. Now, if we could just find someone in the country business, we might get somewhere. Yes, Dale Watson is the hands down "real thing." Sad but true that so few of us know that.

I think Dale just scares the hell out of this Nashwood crowd,They DON'T want him to be heard,They don't want someone upsetting the applecart. If enough people were aware of him,And realize he's the REAL deal,it would hurt the control on this warmed over 70's rock called country music,The industry has spent millions brainwashing people that they are listening to country music,Some guy about 70 years ago said[tell a lie ENOUGH] it will become the truth, DYKBC.

Dale is great enough that I can sit through a pretty awful opening act, and have. Thank goodness he has had some wonderful opening acts (N. C.'s Nashville Rash band for one!!).

There is only two groups I can think of I would PAY to see,Asleep at The Wheel, and Dale. by the way was that opening band that BAD,or did Dale make it seem that way when he came on ? DYKBC.

Since you asked...they were so bad that about 1/3 into their first song I went outside to get some air. I ran into Gene, Dale's Bass player, his drummer and Don, his steel player and we all enjoyed 45 minutes of good fresh "AIR". Winking

We all went back in and enjoyed the rest of the night!! Whoa!

I agree Dale is one of the best entertainers in Country music today.I have been lucky enough to see Dale a few times, every time he puts on a great show, lots of steel guitar, somebody is missing the boat if
they don't see him when he is in your area.

Just my opinion,I think the so-called country music industry really trys to keep him in the shadows, they DON'T want him to be heard,it's rare to see a vidio of him[has been a few] or rare shots on the opry, they may be afraid if too many see the REAL DEAL,it will hurt this [so-called] country music today,I love the things he did with Ricky Davis,DON'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT.Also when he tells the TRUTH about what country has become in his songs such as Country My Ass,Please Mr. DJ,etc, that proberly ruffles some feathers also.If he got rid of the great steelers he uses, replace them with a heavymetal guitar player and a keyboard player and a couple of pretty bimbo backup singers, then they would LOVE him,HOPE THAT NEVER HAPPENS. DYKBC.
