Hi Guys
My super-pro has the rope inlay with wood necks. It's a gorgeous mahogany colour. Are there any more out there ?
I don't recall seeing any at all
Cheers

I think he means more like this...
I've seen a couple black ones with rope, and one cream colored one (not blonde), but yours is the only brown one I've seen. |

Barry,
I used to own this one but I sold it a couple of years ago and it now resides in Colorado.

Lynn,
Why isn't there inlay on the neck...? |

Marlin,
I've seen them with and without...it must have been a cost saving measure at some point I guess

Hi Skip
Yep just like that, now that is one pretty guitar. Is yours the Super-Pro II ?
Lynn, mine has a plain wooden neck like yours.
Erv, mine is the same colour as your Professional, and the birdseye is gorgeous. They seem to be a slightly deeper body than most Buds and the neck seems a lot thicker.
I wouldn't sell it for the world. It makes me smile just to look at it.
Thanks guys

Barry...
No, that one's not mine. Sure is cool, though.
I'm not sure if it's a SuperProII, but it might be. Every SPII that I've seen had a SPII decal, and fluted endplates.
But, on the other hand, this one has the control plate between the necks like a SPII, and inlaid necks, which was a custom item on SP's, while every SPII I've seen has inlaid necks. Well, except for Jimmy Day's, which had metal necks.
Actually, I take that back about the fluted endplates. I've seen a couple without them.
Never seen one with rope inlay, though.
I think there were only about a dozen SuperProII's made. |

Rope inlay is my favorite but maybe it's because I have diamonds on my SuperPro and Pro I and like variety. I think the later models of the SP did not come with inlay. This seems to be a distinguishing factor between the 78 era and early 80's era SP's. I have a Pro III but sure wish I had something with rope....... |

hiya Ricky
That's sure gonna be one sweet guitar. You could almost lick it !
Have you ever been tempted to inlay the necks while you're doing a refurb' ?
Would a same colour inlaid neck from maybe a trashed professional or Pro II fit ?
As Skip says, be sure to show us when it's done.
Regards
Barry
p.s. Jean Fish is over there at the moment and plans to see you and Miss Leslie. |

Yes I'll certainly put pics up of this blonde when finished.
I don't do body work...>this finish was done by Mark Giles.
I actually like this one without the inlay on the necks...just look at that figure....you wouldn't see it with the rope....That figure kinda sits well all by itself???
Yes Barry we saw Jean; she came out...was good seeing her again.
