It's come up in a different thread. Have Peavey discontinued the 1000? That means that there's now no big steel amp in the range, doesn't it?
I love my 112s and don't really need anything else, but this does seem a radical decision; I've often read on here how some guys think the 112 lacks 'headroom'. _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles, Martins, and a Gibson Super 400!

Yes,,, it's official, no more Nashville-1000's. I guess they are making room for the next generation of steel guitar amplifiers, or perhaps the little Nashville-112 sank the flagship. |

Wouldn't surprise me - I think they're great!

Roger, Peavey aren't saying much but the interference is that there is a completely new steel amp in the pipeline somewhere !! Possibly class D power amp -- Neo speaker ....how about 500 watts and 25lb !! :-} _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

Hmmmm... 'Watch this space', eh?
There was that thread some while ago in which Mike Brown sought our opinions about the current products and what we'd like improved. I'd forgotten that, but maybe Peavey haven't.

There was a comment about a "slightly larger" amp than the 112 on the horizon. I'll have to check out the Peavey booth at the ISGC this year. Seems they have prototypes with them at the show and if it's at that stage there may be one there.
But, I agree the success of the Nashville 112 doomed the Nashville 1000. I have a 1000 and although I don't use when playing out, it's still there as a "backup" amp. |

'Morning, Jack!
I'm always way behind the game when it comes to amps. For many years now I've compromised by having something that is satisfactory for either steel or six-string, and currently that means a pair of NV-112s so that I have a back-up. Personally, I don't hear enough difference in the performance of a Webb over my little 112 to justify the enormous disparity in outlay. Yes, I hear something extra with the Webb, but the environment in which one plays can easily nullify that difference, so all that money could be better used elsewhere.
Currently I'm seriously thinking about a dedicated guitar-amp. I'm so excited about my new Fender Thin-Skin Telecasters that I'd like to give them a chance to shine even brighter than they do through my 112s. They sound terrific now, but lately I've been pondering Fender amps again - it's all I used from 1960-1970 - while also considering what Peavey's range of tweedy-looking goodies might offer (probably at a fraction of the price )!
The thought that there may be something new on the horizon will 'still my hand' for a while, though.
Good ole Peavey, eh? I've had these two 112s for about five years now, and they've worked and worked and worked!!! They've worked in less-than-perfect conditions, been hauled around in buses, trucks as well as my car and have been totally taken for granted by 'yours truly'.
That ends now; I'm going to start to say 'thank you' every time the little red light comes on!!!
Thanks, Peavey! _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles, Martins, and a Gibson Super 400!

Roger, I have a MIM Nashville Tele and I don't play much lead (actually very little) but if I were still picking lead it would be with an older Tube Fender Amp.
I played thru an AB768 silver Twin, that came with D-120F JBL's, for 10 years for both lead (with a 61 PX6120 Gretsch) and Steel. It too was a "compromise" as it was great for lead and good for steel. I replaced the two 12" JBL's with one K130 JBL and it took away from Lead and helped Steel. |

I have said and will say again that the Nashville 1000 has long been the benchmark of the pedal steel sound. Discontinuing it is a huge analcranial inversion on Peavey's part, especially without announcing what if anything will replace it. But then again this is the company that makes the Nashville 112 (which I also have) but no cover for it.

I don't know I never could get a satisfying tone out of the nv112.. or could be
my ears are rusty .. now the NV 400 that gets it .. the vegas 400 that gets it.
the Sarno Rev .. that gets it .. My old Vibrasonic gets it. I welcome the idea that Peavey will improve the headroom and weight.. maybe it will be the" Super NV 400" but i def think it should be a NV 400 something.. something about the
KF rebuilds many out in SGF land say really gets it .. so its good luck to Hartly and
his crew of amp designers .. we wait with anticipation. |

I've certainly bought my share of Peavey amps, new and used, over the last 30 years but the N112 was the first model I didn't buy. Although it was never intended to be more than a practice/studio amp, a bunch of players use them out...maybe due to the fact that more and more six-stringers were abandoning their Twins and going to the smaller tube amps. That's a good thing.
When the N1000 first came out, I got one and happily used it in a very loud band that played mostly big shows, and it was an amazing beast. I hope that Peavey successfully follows up with a new flagship. |

Have you tried one of the new Bradshaw Webb amps? They really do have a magnificent tonal range, with tunable ports. I love mine, and Mr Seymour was very complimentary about his last week when I saw him in Nashville. They just have a BIG tone at all volume levels. _________________ Show Pro D10 - amber (8+6), MSA D10 Legend XL Signature - redburst (9+6), Sho-Bud Pro 111 Custom (8+6), Emmons black Push-Pull D10 (8+5), Zum D10 (8x8), Hudson pedal resonator. Not yet, Ken - I'm a bit afraid to, to be honest!!!! I bet I'll finish up in debt!
I've loved reading about your travels, by the way - I'm so happy for you, and very sorry we couldn't meet up. Next time I'm in Blighty, I want to come and look at where your avatar was taken.....
Have a safe trip home.
(I will try the new Webb before long - I'm too much of a gear-head not to... ) _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles, Martins, and a Gibson Super 400!
