Anyone know where Harry Guffee disappeared to? He's an old friend I'd like to hear from.

Tom,
I don't know, either. Wish I did.
I haven't seen, or heard from him...since around '84.
Bought a D-10 Emmons from him, in 1980...when he had his "Steel Guitar Country" music store, in CT. Then, he moved the store to Yonkers, NY. That's the last time I saw him.

Tom,
Last I heard on Harry, which was some while back, was Scotty mentioning that he had gone to California to persue acting. Not long after that, we spotted him in a commercial.
A websearch brought found this > Harry

I too have been looking for Harry.. I have sent many EMAILS with no reply's..

I have just sent another.

Harry and I were friends back in the 80's in Ct, we even did several gigs together. Harry was a great promoter of Steel Guitar and put on some of the best Shows ever in that part of the Country at that time.

I knew he had gone West looking for Gold sometime near the late 80's..I sure hope he found some..Last I spoke with him was probably 85 or 86 ..just before I moved to NC.

And he was (is) a fine musician to boot !

Harry got me back into steeling after a 7 year sabitical back in the mid-80's. I was traveling and stopped at a motel for the night along the interstate in Connecticut. I walked down to the motel restaurant and noticed a banquet room with steel guitars being set-up. I walked in to see what was going on. They were having a club meeting and Harry's shop was a mile away. I listened that night to some steeling and went to Harry's shop the next morning. I came out with an arm load of instructional courses, and as they say, the rest is history. Call it fate or whatever, but Harry is the one I give credit to getting me back in the game.

The last time I saw Harry Guffee was in 1977 when we attended the one week Jeff Newman's teacher course in Nashville. He was a lot of fun to be around. I'd like to contact him and talk old times......al
