Found it on EBay and I thought I'd see if anyone had a clue. Maybe some home made kind of thing?

This is from Tropical Moon Music. They sell very cheap, very poorly made, unplayable GSO (guitar-shaped objects) specializing in oddities such as triple-necks, mandolin-guitars, etc. Homemade would, believe me, be a huge improvement.

Even to my untrained eye...it looked a little, how shall I say it?...."flimsy"...but hey, you have to also know what you don't like to know what you do.

Look at the Ebay seller, Tropicalmoons' other listings. They apparently are an importer and reseller of a variety of inexpensive, often off-the-wall, whimsical instruments. Some of them just look sorta stupid in my opinion, but some of them are kind of intriguing. The six neck guitar they're listing looks pretty unmanageable and totally impractical to me, but, heh! That's why they make nine kinds of Jello. Something for everybody.
The triple 6 lap steel looks like it might be an interesting way for a beginner to start out on lap. It's certainly cheap enough, even with the $30 bag. I wouldn't expect really hot pickups, or anything, but it might be playable. Has anyone purchased one of these lovely instruments? If so, please give us the critique.

I have encountered two instruments from them: a doubleneck guitar and mandolin, and a doubleneck "lap" steel. Both, quite aside from being shoddily built, were absolutely and completely unplayable. The guitar's frets were misplaced, and intonation was off about two steps; the mandolin had a piece of wood for a bridge, that would not even hold the strings, and a useless tailpiece. The strings on the lap steel (which was the size of a kitchen table) were a quarter-inch off the neck, and the tuners wouldn't hold at all. In short: Run, don't walk.

I bought a double 6 from them last year..

When I got it the nuts were a cheap soft wood, the electronics were totally wrong (only one neck worked, the other sort of worked if you jiggled the toggle switch).
I refused to pay their ridiculous shipping fees, read closely..they want an additional 30.00 for a "case" and additional shipping (on top of their 45.00) of 10.00 for the case. So, excluding the end price of the auction, they want a total of 75 or so bucks additional, which is what that steel may be worth.

FWIW: After I put in lipstick pups, new pots, wires, knobs, jack, switch, caps, made new bridges and nuts out of angle stock, etc...the green d6 I have isn't that bad of a steel. Actually sounds pretty good, though it's a short scale like the Rogues or Artisans.

The same units are being flogged in Australia by a different mob. They want $175 for the T8. I am delighted to have read this thread as I'm poor enough to have actually thought of buying one. Whoa!

Wow! the auction is already at 20.50
I came across one of these at a flea market some time back. Absolute junk!!! I walked away and the seller was asking 25.00 never mind the additional "case and freight" charges of 84.98 Confused
I wish there was a way to warn buyers off of this type of junk.
