Buddy thanks for your continued hard work to keep this great show really swinging. John, it's always my pleasure to play with such a wonderful crowd. You are the man who makes the sound right and your humor is what we need in times like these. Thanks for making it possible for me to enjoy this show so much. Garland, I'm hoping to see you soon again; and give your lovely wife our concerns and prayers.
Sincerely, Bob Strum

Yeah Buddy
Youre right this is gonna be one to remember.

I'll be down a day early to work on the PA system some and get everything tweaked in with the Mixer and monitor system I'm bringing, hopefully it will make things a litte better on the stage side of the system.

See U there

Alright folks
If you are out on the Highways this weekend, between Atlanta and Saluda, The First Georgia Carpool event of 2004 is about to happen. There are going to be a drove of Steel Guitar Players headed toward Saluda. Be gentle with them, but honk as you go by. These guys have spent so much on Steel Guitars and accessories, that they can't afford anything but Grandpa's Mule and wagon to Carpool in. They have this down to a science, Some have even tried the Push Pull System, but had to go back to a more traditional System Due to Wayne Stowers being forced to go potty off the back of the wagon.(The pushing Mule Objected) They have developed this to a fine art going to 2 mules and some have even tried Supercharging, like Tommy Dodd feeding his mules Varsity Hot Dogs.

When you get to the show, Whoop and Holler after each song, Steel Guitar Players love this and especially The Georgia Gang, Makes them feel at home. These Georgia Folks Whoop and Holler after every song even if its a CD playing, Its a Way of life in Georgia.

See You all at the Show.

Lets pack that ole Shrine Club and Give the all of these Great players a big Saluda Welcome.

Saluda isn't only just a place, its a state of mind where you can wind down, sit back and enjoy some of the finest Steel Guitar music in the world. Take off your Shoes and Stay a while. You'll luv it.

Always expect the unexpected at Saluda, You never know who will show up. There are always some surprises. Last November, Joe Wright and Ben Brogden Just happened to drop in and put a nice finishing touch to the show. We ran over a little bit, but who cares.

For you folks who have never been to Saluda, this show runs continiously from 10 in the morning on Sunday until everyone gets to play, We use a left and right stage system where one player is setting up while another player is doing his show on the opposite side of the stage on a not to interfere basis. The MC is the bridge between players and if we can keep that loudmouth's comments down to a minimum, we have a smooth running operation. All kidding aside, Bill Ferguson is a great player and MC. We also poke a lot of fun at each other and its all in fun.

John Hughey, Jeff Newman and Randy Beavers
And this is Just the First one of the year, 2004 is going to be a big year for Saluda.

People are really starting to take notice of the Saluda Steel Guitar Conventions.

When you put on more than 70 shows as Buddy and Charles have, things really come together and Jell.

In May We will have Walter Haynes and Bill Stafford along with Bob Strum This will be the Smooth Show of the year. Don't miss this one.

Then Comes August, Good and Hot. Russ and Laney Hicks will make things sizzle along with the Great Sonny Curtis.

Don't know who Buddy has lined up for Next Novemeber, he just Grins and sez Wait and see. I take it that its going to be something special, but then again all the Saluda shows are special.

Here it is hours before the show, John Floyd left for Saluda in the early darkness, packed his P/U full of PA equipment and is driving the 400 plus miles. He has been reminding us all about the great event ever since Buddy announced the dates and performers. John will run the PA system and donate all his time and energies because he truly believes whole heartedly in Buddy Walker ,his efforts and the great reason this show is scheduled. My hats off to all the great brothers involved and especially John whose efforts reminded me "Why". Have a great show. I hope to be at the very next one.
