Popped out to the Station Inn in Nashville last night to catch the Time Jumpers as I needed a Western Swing fix. Unfortunately, Paul Franklin was absent. Fortunately, Buck Reid was subbing for Paul. Buck was outstanding, was on top of the arrangements and even twinned with Andy as called for. His tone was clean and full, but for my ears he could have been just a touch louder, at least where I sat. It was great to hear him play with such a superb group and he blended in like he was a regular. The Jumpers were in fine form, as usual, and there was an added treat when Texan Jake Hooker sat in and sang a couple of great old Honky Tonk tunes. Nights like this make dealing with tornados and summer humidity worth moving here.

We were right there in front with Buck's girlfriend. I was in hog heaven. You can watch UTube videos 'til the cows come home and they won't begin to approach the magic of that group seen in person. Buck will also be there next Monday night. Paul Franklin returns the following week.

This forum is the first place I've ever heard of the Time Jumpers. I'm a huge fan of Asleep at the Wheel and Commander Cody, so I thought I'd check and see if they existed on iTunes. To my total surprise, Jumpin' Time is there!
I downloaded it immediately...killer album. Thanks for the heads up!

Yes Shorty Buck did an excellent job but like you I thought he could've turned up a bit, but I don't think anyone would have done any better. Fine playing.
