I have to agree this was one of our better jam. It would be very hard to say what was the highlight of the evening. Tim McCutchen's Lord's Prayer was awesome. Also Austin Stewert blew the crowd away as usual. He is even making faces now and smiling. Way to go Austin! I can't get over how good Donna Newberry and her daughter Dana sing together. Lots of talent in that family. That includes you too Jerry! Beside the steel players being a hit, we had a fan Letty Jo who made grahmn cracker cookies for the musicians and had every lady wanting the recipe including myself. A big thanks goes to all the performers and the behind scene crew. I could go on and on but you will have to come to the April one and see for yourself. If you come once you'll be back for more! Thanks Mac. Dwayne, and Larry. We're lucky to have you. Thanks Tim, for making Zelpha's evening by learning Ivan's favorite song. She is a special lady. Gotta go as Roger is cracking the whip for us to do KP duty! We still love you Roger! |

Thanks Norma for the kind words. I told Jerry on the way home that Norma didn't sing. Did I just miss you. I did get to hear you play though. Thanks to all the band. I wondered if anyone noticed that Austin did make some faces. He has been doing that a little lately. He used to never crack a smile or show anything. Oh yes. Those graham cracker things were GREAT!!!!!!!!! Got to make some of them when I get back from fishing. Donna |

Donna, I didn't sing. Virgil Pittman asked me to but I'm getting over bronchitis so I wasn't able. I hope to be ready by the 17th as that is when I play with Bill Myrick at Country Your Way. I've tried to get him to play at the jams also. If you all are ever at Springdale the 3rd and 4th Tuesday drop in at Country Your Way. It's ran like the Little West Fork Opery. I failed to say I enjoyed Carlene Roller's singing too. Good luck bass fishing. See ya in Dallas!

My goodness, Miss Norma--I always looked at it as me playing with you !!! For you folks that don't know this little lady, she's a steel player's dream to play behind. She picks great country songs, has a great sound and meters that bass like it should be. You can just set back and let it roll and not worry about where she will be next. As for me playing at the jams---well picture a 65 year old rusty "has sort of been" that plays a couple nights a month at Country You Way show which Norma mentioned and the rest of the time the old "Bud" is in the case at home while I'm busy trying to make something to pay the bills with. Does that sound like someone you'd like to hear at a jam ? Especially with the cast The Siloam Club has. Maybe sometime if I can talk my wife and Norma Jean and maybe Larry King to do some vocals for me to hide behind -- coarse King's a little leary of me anymore since I offered him a cure for his sore knee saturday night-- went limping off muttering something to the effect "he's went plumb nutts on me" - |
