I LIKE IT! A steel show less 30 minutes from my house! I have a gig in Panama City Beach that night so I can't stay to late but I'll be there.

I'm amped! I haven't been to a show in a good long while. I've been wanting to meet Billy Carr for 3 years. Russ and Joe are two of my favorite fellers in the pedal steel community. They both have helped and inspired me so much. I can hardly wait... It's gonna be a good'un!

Sure am looking forward to seeing Lamar again and just being in the LA area....I remember working the Hank Williams festival in Georgiana with Charlie McCoy and Ron Taylor, the 'Rebel from Red Level'....I plan on having a LARGE time down there with all you guys.
Remember to say a prayer for Bill Simmons...we don't need to lose such a good man as he.

Hello Russ, I was at the Georgiana show around 1977 or 1978 and I have pictures of you and Laney with
Charlie McCoy taken that day. I am also scheduled to
play on the Opp show, so I will bring the pictures for you to see. See you soon.

Hey Jack, Adam Biddle, lead singer for "The Rowdy Friends Band" is coming with me. He's been wanting to meet Lamar for a while now. If you have room ya oughta let Adam get up and sing a couple Hank Jr tunes. We have a pretty big following in Covington County and we've been advertising for ya. I'm so looking forward to the show.

I am so proud to see this happening again! I met Mr and Mrs Helms at this show last year and it was one of the pleasures of my life to see all of these folks play! I'm a local musician from Andalusia, AL and play non-pedal steel, and little bit of everything else. Any word if there's gonna be non-peddlers there?

I've also got some great pics from last year's show at www.myspace.com/scottrogers I think I got a pic of most everyone there,

Looking forward to it!

Scott

I just packed up the old Eldorado....I'm leaving at first light tomorrow; I want to get to Opp early enough to spend a few hours at Indian Joes Advanced Steel Guitar College....Joe tells me I'll leave there with a totally different outlook on steel playing....that may be a good thing. Smile
Ya'll be careful on the road and I'll see you soon.
