For Sale: Martin Acoustic Shenandoah D-2832 Guitar- (with built in factory pickup) Jack is where strap attaches. See picture.
This is the Shenandoah model. Serial number is #468732. It was manufactured in 1987. Amazing sound, especially plugged into amp. Guitar is in real nice shape. I have taken a picture of the one noticeable mark on the guitar top of body. It is to the right of the pickguard on 4th picture. It was there when I purchased the guitar.
The following I copied and pasted from Newport News Fret Not Guitar Repair website on Martin Shenandoah Guitars:
"Shenandoah guitars were produced from 1983 to 1996. To my knowledge those assembled in the US (1993 and earlier) had solid spruce tops, laminated back/sides and finished with lacquer. Nato wood necks were also common as well as rosewood fingerboards and bridges which were stained black to look like ebony. Again, these are generalities and may not apply to every single one produced.
In an attempt to offer lower priced instruments, Martin's line of Shenandoah guitars were built in Japan and then shipped back to the Martin factory in Nazareth PA for painting and final assembly. The practice of bi-continental production eventually met it's demise and Shenandoah's were produced entirely in Japan their final 3 years from 1994-1996.
Shenandoah guitars were usually given the model number of the Martin guitar they resembled, superseded by the number 32. For instance the Shenandoah D-1832, is a D-18 copy, the D-2832, a D-28 copy and so on."
Prefixes commonly used to denote a style or option:
"D= Dreadnought
H= Herringbone Purfling, as in HD-28
S= Single Cutaway
C= Classical
CS= Custom Model"
I purchased this last year and it's a wonderful sounding and playing guitar. One sold on the GUITAR MUSEUM WEBSITE THAT WAS JUST LIKE MINE, and that did not include the stand. Here is the webpage. Just click on it and you'll see it. In fact, that one did not have a nice case, just a cheap vinyl fold up cloth case. See for yourself.

I paid $599.00 on Craigs List, plus $40.00 shipping. I have attached the add when I purchased it. I'd like to recoup my money less the freight. As an added bonus I will throw in a real nice guitar stand with the deal. With freight it cost me around 45-50 bucks. I'll throw in a nice guitar strap also. Case is in nice shape and has a key for locking.
Price: $599.00 plus outgoing freight/insurance
of $40.00
