Sorry Myron, those old guitars are only worth about $150. Where do I send the check???
Seriously, Contact Bobbe Seymour at "Steel Guitar Nashville." Click on the green "Links" at the top of the page, then click on Vendors. Under vendors, you will find a link to Steel guitar Nashville. Bobbe is a dealer in vintage steels and has a good feel for current market value. He says that the Bigsby guitars are the most collectible of all pedal steels...

From what others tell me, Myron, they're very collectible - sorta like the "Stradivarius" of pedal steel guitars! If yours is original, and in good shape, you're talking up in the 5-figure bracket - maybe $10,000, or maybe even several times that. At any rate, you should probably get at least three good "objective" appraisals on it before you decide to sell. |

I've seen pics of this guitar and it's probably one of the most desirable Bigsby for a "modern" pedal steel playing since it's a D10, the only D10 Bigsby I know of. It also is a woodneck, a feature that makes it even more rare. Six pedals seem to have enough pulls to cover most changes one would ever need, it's in great shape, pretty much all original. Congrats Myron, you have a true rare bird in your hands! |
