I just had a really nice MSA Classic SS (the small MSA) SD-10 3 X 2 (LKL & LKR) Emmons set up, come in the shop. It is burgandy in color, has a black pad and as it stands right now is a good 81/2 to 9 out of 10. It has a few bar dings, but is still in very good shape. The mechanics are near perfect.
I'm going to offer it as is for $1250 for a few days. Then, when I get time, I will refurbish it, add two more levers and offer it for around $1750 to $1850.
I don't have pictures yet, but am trying to learn how to do that.
I promise you that it is a very nice guitar and I've described it as close as I know how. It has the original MSA Super Sustain II pick up in it.
The present owner of the guitar came into possession when his father died about a year ago. His dad bought the guitar new from one of the then MSA dealers. He (the son) traded up to a D-10 and that's how I came to posses it.

Larry,
As far as I can tell with my old wore out calipers as well as my old wore out eyes, the Classic SS is a tiny bit narrower than the PP.
At the changer end,,,PP .3625 to .370 (they varied). MSA SS .352 to .354 or about .010 difference average.
At the nut end,,,,PP .290. MSA .275 or .015 difference.
Mind you, both of these guitars are old and the PP has been worked on numerous times. The MSA looks to have never been worked on or altered.

BB I am thinking about giving lessons to those who may want to come spend time with me on a weekend and do not want to bring their guitar. This might be a good way to go. I am trying to keep the cost down as it would take time to recoup the expense.
