Can anybody recommend a place to buy a simple bar. One place wanted $30.00 to ship a $25.00 bar. |

You can get the standard or heavy Ernie Ball bar at Musician's friend for $20. (Shipping will cost you another $6.)
They also carry the new stainless steel Ernie Ball models if you prefer, but the chrome one feels better, to me.
note: They stock the bars under the term "slide" |

Thanks for the quick response. Having one bar is like having one pair of glasses. You just know someday you're going to regret it. |

On stage with me, there are always 2. (Search the Forum for all the "lost grip of my bar and it flew into the ladies' room" stories.) Along with some tools, extension/patch cords, extra volume pedal, etc. that stays in my truck, there's a 3d bar and picks. Just in case my gig bag grows legs or gets homesick and stays behind.
I also find it better to have extra bars/picks/VP for home rehearsal, so the gig equipment is packed and ready.
Only bring 1 guitar...but it's got 2 necks! |

Hi Robert,
I've got a hard chromed 7/8" PLanet Waves bar with about 2 hours on it that I'll sell to you for $20 shipped. It works and sounds fine, and even comes with a nifty little holder. After messing with it for a couple of hours I decided I like the 1" diameter I've been using better. I sent an email to you about this , but am not sure that it went through. You can email or PM me if interested.
All the best,
Ross Shafer |

Thanks to all for your help. I have had the same bar for over twenty years so it is just a matter of time before I lose it. |
