Blake always beats me to announcing the Manasota Steel Guitar Club's jam and I am thankful for that! Sorry I'm so late piping up. I have an excuse. I have been tied up attending to Mr. Murphy (Tom) and his bout with a very bad case of shingles. The Texas Steel Guitar Jamboree took some of my attention also. He (Tom) seems to up to going so I will see everyone Tuesday evening.

Nick-Old guys buy beer for new guys-See old guy Skip
for reimbersment. (If he wont buy see me up a couple) I'm cheaper than Skip!!

Danny I'm sick and tired of hearing about Squirrelie and him not showing up. Unlock the trunk and let him play!

Ernie- You need to move a little further south, like Ruskin, Rubonia, Ona or even Palmetto. It would be a short trip from those locations.

Hope to see the Port Charlotte/Canadian recovering from stroke (Sorry didn't get your name) at the Texas jam. Talked to him after Rick Alexander's set in Texas

Thanks to all that attend, pickers and fans we love you all (or is that yowal).

Tom and I will continue as long as you come and our health holds out.

Tom and Clyde

I took care of it, Nick. Hopefully I didn't get him lost too bad.

Ya'll are lucky tonight - I'm leaving the Mullen at home - sounds like we have plenty of steelers without me flailing around - I need some more practice time, anyway. I am bringing my 'not quite finished but still playable' lap steel (that's the brand name, Clyde) for Phil or one of you no pedal guys to try.

Later!

I don't know where to start. I have never heard so many excuses at one time. Some are quit good and I will use them in the future. I especially like Ernie's. After driving all the way to Texas, he can't plan a little trip within the state. Nice try Ernie.

But seriously thanks to all that attended and performed. As I mentioned at the jam Tom's shingle pain medicine seems to be adjusted now and I sure hope he will be in shape to run things next month.

We missed Roy, Laurie, Ernie and Dave. We worked Nick hard! Thanks to Nick and his several brothers (inside joke) for supplying us with all the great music. Don, Phil and even Skip filled out the steel players.

A special thanks to Blake for filling in for Tom.

And let's not forget our roadies Skip, Blake, Mildred, Charles and anyone else that helped.

Thanks again

Tom and especially Clyde

A great time was had at Manasota Steel Guitar Club last Tuesday. If you wasn't there You missed out.

I got to be Nick Reed's rode and driver. and if that little Emmons had been a half inch longer, it wouldn't have fit in my VW.

It was good to see all the Reed Boys, Nick Reed, Don Reed, Phil Reed and Skip Reed. And carried the show very well

And Blake's sing. WOW!
Don had his new hand made D10 Steel, it sure was pretty

Hey Danny - good to finally meet you and thanks for bringing that Reed boy down to visit - it was nice to meet who I've been talking to all these years. I thought we had a real good time even though it rained and a few folks couldn't make it. I was really impressed with Don's new double 8 that Phil Bender built - I'm thinking of getting rid of my pedals and building a single 10 (Don's suggestion) and learning some of that pretty Hawaiian music. Ya'll take care and come back and see us.

Nothing much to add. I appreciate everyone who came.
Especially Danny, Jim, and Nick comming all the way from Floral City. (Actually Jim came from Ocala.)

Roy and Laurie, we missed you. Hopefully you can make it next time.

Don's new double neck, built by Phil was the hit of the show. Sounds every bit as good as it looks.

Nick, nice picture. At least you had your eyes open.
Very Happy

I don't guess ol' Nick knew before he came that he was going to be the star attraction. We actually told everybody to stay home so he'd have to work harder! He came through with flying colors, though, and Nick, thanks for letting me play (sort of) your nifty '66' PP - nice guitar and the fact that it was Harold's makes it even better.
