OK, I’m stoked. Just received a super-clean, unmolested B6 that I won on eBay last week at a great price (thank you, Recession). It's got the molded string-through bridge, outlined frets, later neck joint, 1.5” pickup with patent number and thumbscrews, pre T-logo nameplate, black flying saucer knobs, white metal plates, and serial number (C36XX). Is it fair to assume this is just pre-war, like '40 or '41? Any way to dial in the date?

Yep, ca. '40-41 would be about right. I've got C3714 w/ white painted metal plates and white knobs(one of the highest pre-war C# units I have seen).

That's really a nice one. Rick must have started the outlined frets just before the war. Are the plates metal, or plastic ?? Looks like you did good  |

That's a beauty. It's considered to be a "wartime". I had one just like it and I regret not still having it, as it was one of the most playable and beautiful sounding steels I ever owned.

| Dang, there's another really clean one up on eBay today for $1,100 Buy It Now, which at least pre-economelt would've been a pretty fair price. B&W knobs, form-fit Geib case and goodies. Advertised as a '37 but clearly a few years later. |
