John, the first roller nuts that Shobud made used string ball ends. My Fingertip has them.

John,

I didn't know that the early Buds had them, interesting. I did notice that some of those guitars used guitar tuning post bushings for spacers underneath.

I had seen a few fingertips come and go when I worked for Bobbe at the old SGW store in Goodlettsville but never really looked at them that close.

I have seen earlier Madison Sho~Bud guitars with gumby heads and no rollers at all.

John,
I think I might have met you in Goodlettsville. I stopped in one day to show Bobbe my Kline. At that time, it was the first he'd seen. You're right about the Madison guitars. My '59 does not have rollers. The first run of Fingertips used the ball ends. Later ones had "real" rollers. Here's a pic of my Fingertip.

P>S> I'll look around all my steel stuff and see if I have his brochures around here...

Yep, sure have heard of that guitar. I own one. My first - I have had it about a year now. Plays good and sounds good. Looks like it was made in the 70's.

Lee also had a pawn shop on Broadway in Nashville in late 70's or early 80's. I remember looking at a 6 string banjo he had there.

I remember as a kid riding up to my friendly bicycle shoppe and just two doors away, on the corner of North Killingsworth and something else, was this guitar shop. He used to feature psychodelic colored pedals and fret markers and for whatever reason, before I even fully understood what a pedal steel guitar was, I was offended by the general appearance of the guitar.

Then, he just sorta went away.........

god thats the funniest thing ive read in a while. lol
