I noticed 'in the book' and also at Todd Clinesmith's ....Clinesmith Guitar Factory down in Glide, Oregon,....that Bigsby made SIDE BRACE attach-ments that locked in between the font and rear legs for stability purposes.

How many of you acquired that item when you purchased your BIGSBY? How many felt they were REALLY NECESSARY? Are they primarily for those fellows that STAND UP or did any sit-down players also use them?

Ray, you genarely see them, on T8s when the player is in the standing position.
I have seen Joaquin and Pee Wee Whitewing use them.
I would imagine they would be a great help, I remember standing up and playing my Bigsby, and there was movement.
I also think I have seen a pic where PWW, has the side braces, and a pedal rack upside down bracing the legs in the front.

And to add to what Lee has said, the Bigsby guitar legs were straight down, from the guitar, as I'm sure you know, creating a parallelogram. Current guitars taper them out on around a 10ยบ angle, making a more stable trapezoid.
