i've only seen pics of a couple carson/wells steels. they look as good as anything else, maybe better with the engraving! how do they compare functionally to a zum, derby etc?

Humm.. tough question,
It plays with very easy action and
sounds very good,
Works OK...
No Issues...Just like Zerby or a Dum Steel would be if Carson Wells Built them... Just Exactly like em ..
No really, just kidding,
I guess it would compare more to a MCI or EMCI.. All Steels are hard to compare with out playing them.
Some are trashed out some are super nice like mine.
Cool

These Carson Wells guitar are some of the best steels out there. I'd buy this one if I didn't already have a new guitar going together as we speak. Built to last a life time,so you guy's who like to swap guitars often may not want this . The problem with it is once you play it for a week you'll not want to part with it. Very Happy

I bought this guitar today from Dave Kellog. Needed a second guitar to have for out of town students who would like to spend a couple of days with me learning how to play. This would save them from having to bring their guitar on the airlines etc.
