Yesterday I happened upon an older (looks like 60's 70's) 6 string lap steel in a pawn shop just outside of Eureka Springs AR. Lightweight and in fairly decent shape. The only marking I can find says "Conqueror." Black finish with lots of metal bolted to it. Comes with a case and a bar that looks like it was used by a Millwright for a center punch. The guitar plays but the strings were so rusted I didn't want to take a chance on tuning it up.
I do not know much about lap guitars. Just bought a Rondo SX a few months back to mess about with after getting rid of my pedal steel. The Rondo is not a bad guitar. After replacing the tuners with Grovers, replacing the bridge and putting a P-90 in it.... the Rondo isn't too bad... (LOL)
Anyway, I would appreciate any info that anyone here may have on the Conqueror... value? made by? I am heading back to Santa Fe shortly and will have to grab it up pretty quick before I head out.....
Thanks in advance....
Garry

It's most likely a Guyatone. I have a D-8 Guyatone with a metal/plastic "Conqueror" emblem attached to the front.
