It's a Model 6139, most likely early '70's. It has a rack and barrel undercarriage with at least one KL with newer parts...bell cranks and nylon pullers.
Could be good, could be bad. It's had some stuff done to it, and that could go either way.
On closer inspection, the RKR looks like there may be some homemade parts, and the RKL doesn't seem to have any barrels, but there's a rod (1st string) attached to the end of the rack...odd. And it looks like the racks are turned backwards.
Not the best refin I've seen, either... |

Tim,
Link works fine, I doubt the same could be said for the Bud. That thing has been dorked with one too many times.
$500 dollar axe, maybe. Sink another 7 or 8 hundred into it and it could result in an OK guitar.
That peice of scrap aluminum where the control plate used to be is heinous!

Pedalrack-to-leg attachment is missing on the one visible side.
Refin looks like a basement minwax job.
Since he is accepting offers, if one were looking for a project I suppose you could offer some realistic amount. A lot of sellers seem to think that the name Sho-Bud equals automatic stupid money. (I totally dig my Bud--that's not an anti Sho-Bud statement). And as we all know, the world-wide Ebay market does often succeed in finding the stupid people willing to pay that stupid money so I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for him to accept a $500 offer. But Hu nose. |

Seriously, who is he trying to kid? That cabinet has more nicks than a Greek phone book!
Taking the sticker from the center of the pedal rack and plastering it to the front of the cabinet is a nice touch! I wonder what it covering up?

Refinishing (stripping/sanding) can be real rough on that inlay---I'm not seeing what you're seeing re: cruddy inlay unless I'm looking in the wrong place.
What on earth is that 'figuring' that runs from the inlay to beneath the Sho-Bud plate? Is it a run-away orbital sander? |

That is the old "Rope" inlay. Not sure if they used it on the older Mavericks or not.
I never found it all that attractive either.

Iknow -- my first steel was a blonde Maverick. The body on that guitar just seems really wrong, but it probably started out life as a true S-10. For myself, I like the rope inlay, but YMMV... :- )
