Anybody know a good PV man in Florida? Sarasota to Fort Pierce or Vero or WPB? |

Dave:
There was a good repair shop in Venice. I cannot recall the name. They were in the back of Dave Pierce's music store. They did some good work on my Nashville 400. |

I haven't heard of any "good" PV repair here in Fl. Dave Pierce's steel shop has been gone for quite a while.
I know it's a hassle to ship something to Peavey for repair, and their turnaround time is not good right now, but that may still be the best option. |

Dave:
The shop I was referring to had nothing to do with Pierces shop. It was a seperate business with a hallway connecting the two.It was in the rear of the building. I have had great response from Peavey. If you will call or email Mike Brown he will see that your problem is taken care of. Atleast that has been my experience.

Special equipment is needed to work on the Surface Mount stuff. I had to ship an XR600F P.A. amp to them for repair last year.
I forgot about Ken, who's in south Georgia. It's still a little ways from South Florida but Ken does a lot of amp work.
Bud, I remember now that Dave's shop was in a small strip mall and I thought there was a music store there too? I was only there once in 96 so I don't remember too much about it. |

Sorry guys, but it seems that many customers are repairing products that they already own, therefore it puts behind a bit. |

Before you send it out for repair you might try a short patch cable between the effects out and effects in jacks and another in between the preamp out and power amp in jacks. |

I wish I'd had some of this info. before shipping my N1000 to Peavey. They received it Jan. 23rd and I haven't heard a word yet. Yes, Mike, you did return my e-mail and I appreciate it, but I sure miss my amp. It's not under warrenty so I could'v sent it anywhere. Tampa would've been real convenient as I could have carried it there rather than deal with UPS. _________________ J.R. Marlowe

In Peavey's defense I can see why they are behind. Every repair shop I have talked to is doing record business now. With the economy in the dumpster people are fixing and not buying new amps. That's real bad news for Peavey and the rest of the manufacturing industries!
My shop is no exception, my business has doubled since the first of the year and still going strong. |
