Who has Ideas and can help us for ""PICK Of The HITS"" new album .
The (Best) wellkown Country TOPHITS from the past (years 50 to 60 - 70 - 80 )
Where can i find these songs/titels,or do you know, or IDEAS for the GOOD-ones ?
This is for a wellknown European artist(and his record company)who had many Hits in Europe and Azie in the past.
First preference is to Shuffles and Western Swing as well Ballads.
Your suggestions are welcome !!
BTW . We hope to make this album with the best musicians to day from the states ao;Bobby Flores and his wellknown Texas music-friends.
and from Europe we think on Nils Tuxen-Andre Sommer and brother Koos Biel.

When a question like this comes up I always think of Conway Twitty's "Lost in the Feeling" which has some of the best steel work ever recorded. I remember when I first heard it I was playing a club in Lakewood, Calif. in the early eighties. It was on the jukebox and after I heard it, I kept playing it over and over. The magnificent John Hughey at his best........JH in Va.

When I was living in Germany, many years ago, there was a German band that called themselves "Truck Stop." They had a steel player that was absolutely outstanding, and they did several songs that had the steeler busier than a one-armed paper hanger, but he got it done, with style and grace. One of the best ones they did was called "Ich Moecht Zo Geheren Dave Dudley Hoeren" (hope I spelled it right). Another outstanding non-US artist that has some terrific steel guitar playing is Australia's Adam Harvey. Adam did a song a few years back called "The Shake of a Hand" and Michel Rose did some of the prettiest steel guitar playing I've ever heard...clean, simple, and just really tasteful. Then there's Alan Jackson's "Remember When?" I believe Lloyd did the outstanding steel solo on this song...simply gorgeous, IMHO.
