Mid 1980s Sho-Bud Pro II Custom single 12 on a double body.
- Natural birdseye maple
- Undercarriage completely rebuilt and set up by John Coop in 2004
- Pedal bar buffed
- New decals
- New legs
- New pedal rods
- 7 pedals / 6 Knees

This is a very special guitar. In many ways it is new. I've played a couple dozen gigs on it and most of the time it has been my practice guitar and never left home. I can't afford to keep three guitars so this one has to go.

I have to get $3000 out of it. I have more than that in it. No lowball offers, please. I'd rather keep it than sell it short.

Let me know how I can take it off you hands. Good price. How will shipping be handled? What is the condition of the case?

The case is in very good shape -- for a 35 year old case. A few scuffs but no major tear in the Tolex. Structural integrity is excellent.

I will ship by whichever carrier you prefer. Just let me know. My EMail address is larry@larrybell.org .

Well, Lee, a few years ago I even had to give my DAUGHTER away. Very Happy

I'd love to have kept most of the guitars I've owned but the reality is that I'm a player and not a collector. It gives me joy to spread some of these great 12-strings around. I've been blessed to own some really excellent guitars.

This one is spoken for at this point. We are still working out the details, so please leave the thread open. Thanks.

i really hope everyone is kidding about having spouses limit the number of steels one is allowed to have. i would never allow that and can't imagine being with a woman who thought she had anything to say about it. how embarrassing!.

Being a great "artist", but a financial wizard not so much...I happily let my wife function as our Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to keep us solvent. That does mean a discussion now and then on the merits of new gear, but we keep it rational and logic-based, I do have enough nice gear to play and record with, and we still eat and pay rent.

If it were up to me, I'd own about 50 steels I've drooled over here on the forum. But then I'd probably be homeless and trying to drag them around in a shopping cart, how ugh would that be!

This Sho-Bud is particularly tempting; I sold one similar because of its limited 2+1 changer, this one is both more capable and the SD format...and I'd love to have that wonderful Sho-Bud tone for certain jobs and sessions. But budget just won't allow. Someone is getting a really great steel here!

Good luck with the sale, Larry, must be hard to turn loose of this beauty.

I'll bump it, too...can't believe this one hasn't been snagged by now! So bummed my budget won't allow making an offer, Larry, I'd love to have this capable ext E9 Sho-Bud, just for the tonal variation it provides.

Any body who has two Standel Custom 15's automaticly qualifies for a bumpske. This economy has a lot of potential buyers beat down to nothing in the "slush fund" department these days. This guitar is definatly priced very righteous. Hang in there, Larry, it will find a home.

Too bad the price doesn't include the airfare to come try it out - there's the rub.
