The weather service tried to scare us today.
BIG STORM they said! Stay home! 8 inches of snow in a 10 hour period! If you have to travel take food, a cell phone and a flashlight!!!
I stayed home and recorded today. The "big storm" turned out to be 2" of snow. No big deal. Here's my storm song. Every song about snow is a Christmas song. Nobody wants that now. This one is close enough.
I recorded this with my:
2006 Talsma Tenor Ukulele
1954 Fender Champion Lap Steel
1993 Heritage Johnny Smith Archtop Guitar
Band In Box Bass
September In The Rain
I learned this one at the Augusta Heritage Festival where I will be back again (my third year!) at Swing Week July 26-31, 2009 teaching swing ukulele and beginning C6 steel guitar. _________________ Gerald Ross

That's nice, Gerald. Good song. I'm learning ukulele now, and I'm getting a good appreciation of how hard it is to find chord voicings on four strings when you're used to six.... |

Very nice indeed, no harm meant, but I hope it snows for a while yet up your way.

Nice going Gerald! Very tasty playing, and a good arrangement too. How about doing some more good tunes from your "standards" library?

I thought for a moment that you were going to do Stormy Weather!
September in the Rain was a nice and enjoyable selection however.

Hey Gerald, that's beautiful!
It's definitely a keeper - I downloaded it to my Steel Tracks folder, where only the coolest tunage resides . . _________________

Very nice, gentle reading of a great standard, Gerald. The George Shearing Quintet, Tal Farlow, and Curly Chalker all did great versions of that tune. |

Great laid back rendition! Don't know why it reminded me of Jack de Mello's " Steel Guitar Magic" album (Billy Hew Len and Barney Isaacs).
But then again, Gerald, you are an institution on your own!

Listened to this again today (it's snowing here).Very nice arrangement & feel to the tune, and your Lollar-ized Fender sounds really good. Enjoyed the lead and backup steelin'... |
