I have a Goldtone Mahogany, little over two years old
It has a couple of tiny bar dings, a few small scratches, and one scratch about 1/2" long, on the side that goes against the player. Other than that it's in good condition. The Lace pickup works really well, especially when played through a Baggs Paraa coustic, or some kind of acoustic preamp. A Pro-Tec thick gig-bag comes with it also. I paid $570 for the dobro at Elderly, and $100 for the Lace pickup. I forgot to add that I bought the Gig bag seperate, It was about $60. So I need $425 and I'll split the shippin. If buyer uses Paypal please add 3% for Paypal fees.
Can't get my pictures to work. Oh Well

Yes, it is a Beard Goldtone mahogany dobro. Smile
I'll try to send you pictures. Don't know why I can't get them to work here, never had any trouble before.
Here are a couple more pics. The little mark at the bottom left(back pic)is a piece of clear tape to hold the pickup cord in place. Nothing but glares on the upper neck.

Terry, not all of the Gold Tone Beard resophonics are set up by Beard. According to a contact at Beard, not sure how many, but, some (and likely more than are done by Beard), are set up by Gold Tone. The only way to know is to look down into the sound holes, and if done by Beard, there will be a sticker stating that, and again according to my contact, they do not assign a serial number to them when they do it. If it was done by Gold Tone, the sticker is different, and it will have a serial number assigned to it.

Not trying to rain on your parade here, but just want the info to be correct. If it does have the Beard sticker in the soundhole, you might want to state that fact.

Well, I appreciate your concern Chuck, but I would never intentionally lie about an item just to try and sell it. The fact is, Elderly instruments, where I bought the reso, stated that this Beard Goldtone was set up at the Beard shop. And,it does have the Beard sticker inside the sound hole. So, yes this Beard Goldtone was set up at the Beard shop everbody.

Terry, my apologies, I was not trying to imply you were lying. I only happen to know about that as I just bought a used PSBD a couple of weeks ago, and a couple of people I spoke with while I was shopping for a used one thought they were all set up by Beard. I didn't know otherwise until I was talking with one of the folks at Beard and they set me straight. And as you said Elderly's gets theirs directly from the Beard folks and are set up by Beard. Anyway, my intentions were to clarify for other folks and I was certainly not trying to offend you with my comments. Matter of fact I wish you had come along a couple of weeks ago and I would have jumped on this.

For those looking for a resophonic guitar, this is a great price for this model!!!

Hi Terry,
can you please tell me how the pickup is attached? Any mods or holes in the guitar?

Thanks,
Cliff

Chuck, no appoligy necessary, I just got carried away with my response. Thanks Smile

Cliff, The Lace pickup was held on originally by two sided tape that came with the pickup. It didn't hold very well, so I used velcro instead. It hadn't came loose yet. There are no holes of any kind drilled into the dobro. Thanks

Chuck Im glad you did mention this. I had no idea and thought they were all set up by beard. I own one of these and ..phew..beard sticker, but its good to know not ALL of em are done by beard as i had assumed, in case i recommedn this guitar to others (which I do , its a nice guitar and sounds great)
Good luck with the sale Terry.

I bought my Gold Tone directly from Gold Tone in Titusville Florida 3 years ago. They set it up for me and installed the Fishman pickup.
In fact I drove over to their factory Showroom and picked it up from the owner.
Sounds fine to me and it has all the Beard parts in it.
It reminds me a lot of the Push Pull Emmons saga where some have to have one and others don't or care to.
I'm one of those. My Emmons LeGrande II sounds fine to me. I've heard some P/P's live that I thought sounded terrible, so it all comes down to personal choice.
I know this had nothing to do with your sale.
I'm sorry about that.

It's a great dobro at a good price.
Someone should grab it before it's gone.
