| Anyone have a "basic" drum machine for sale or an recommendation for one. Don't need one that has to be programed. Just one that gives a good 3/4 and 4/4 beat. |

The Alesis SR-18 will do what you want. It doesn't require any programming for each song as most others do. The SR-18 has serval 3/4 (waltz) programs. Avoid the older SR-16 as there is no 3/4 program in the factory programs - you would have to create one and store it in the user program memory.
I have an SR-16 that I've used for a long time and recently bought an SR-18 and used it on the last recording session I did. I don't know if the SR-18 has everything I need as I did use the SR-16 for one song on that recording session. Maybe when I get more familiar with it I won't need the SR-16.
The SR-18 also has a bass in it. |

Like Doug said, the Zoom MRT-3. It does it all and the good thing is they're only about a hundred bucks out the door........JH in Va.

I haven't quit yet. I am still evaluating all of the responses. I would hate to buy something I couldn't use. It has to be simple.
Well, I have tried out a Boss 660, gonna look at and try a Boss 880 in a couple of days and also a SR 18.
I'm still looking. |

I've been thinking, that I might get up a trade with you. Your choice of drum machines for only one Elk hunt with a garentee of at least a 6x6. Think that would be a pretty good deal,hu.

The SR 18 is a great machine, but it is/was more involved then what I am looking for. 99% of all the machines I have looked at so far have so much in them I would never attemp to use and frankly I don't want to pay $$$ that much for that little use out of one. I have made up my mind though that if I don't find something else to try before I buy, I will probably buy the SR 18. It does have a lot of good features. I would like to try the Zoom 3b and the Boss equivelant to the 3b first though. |
