A rare opportunity for SoCali's to get their ears and eyes on Bobby, along with plenty more great live music and workshops - www.slackkey.com

He can also be found at the NAMM show, but when and where is anybody's guess.

...make that the GRAMMYS!

Bobby is in line for his 3rd 'collective' grammy award with the slack key legends 'live' series CDs by Michael Ho as artist and producer.
Each CD has included Bobby on steel for one cut.

Met up with Bobby Ingano in Manhattan Beach yesterday, still his humble, smiling self. They did not give him a lot of stage time, but when they eventually did, he excelled. Pity that the stage sound system was lousy, but with Bobby's artistry, that did not seem to matter too much.. And steel guitar is still a rarity...

Hi Kay
We're so glad that you got to see Bobby yesterday and just wish we could have been there. As you say,-no matter the conditions,--he always excels. We can't wait to see him in Hawaii. Peg is ready for her second steel lesson.
By the way,-did you happen to see Paul Weaver who was also supposed to be there?
See you in Hawaii.
Wally Very Happy Cool

Bobby's effort didn't take a 4th in a row Grammy this year in the 'Best Hawaiian Album' catagory, that went to Tia Carrere (Bobby's cousin).

But be sure to pick up the new 'The Spirit Of The Slack key Guitar' CD. Bobby's cuts are always a premier selection on these releases.

Here's a review w/a pic (almost) showing Bobby (2nd from right) on stage with the Hawaii Grammy gang during the Manhattan Beach concert, which Kay attended, a day or two prior to the big shoe - www.khnl.com/Global/story.asp?S=5899921

Wally, yes, I did meet Paul, and we both commiserated at the quality of the sound system. He has suffered a blow which has his hip in pain, so I am sure a few e-mails from friendly forumites will cheer him up. Paul does a great job as our video man at the conventions and is an ardent steel guitar fan. And he has not missed a single convention, at least since I joined.

Missing were Bernie Endaya and Pete Kahele. Rolling Eyes
