This is one of the best, longest running, steel shows going! Four times a year, what a tribute to steel guitar. Buddy, you are the greatest!
Thanks for having Don, he is one of the last and greatest legends living today, lets hope he has another 50 or so left in him!
I "saluda" you Buddy, for what you have also done for the world of steel guitar.

Folks
Buddy Walker and Charlie Reece have put on more Steel Guitar shows than anyone. At last count it was 60 something, coming close to 70 and they know how to do it right. Herby Wallace comes to this one 4 times a year, So it has to be something good to keep Herby coming back. The Staff Band is Great. Joe Turner,Doc Strum and the all Georgia gang steelers, make for some terrific talent.

This is going to be a great Show. Don Helms Is more than a Legend, Smiley Roberts sez he puts on a pretty Good Chicken Gizzard and Liver Dinner.

Sorry To say I can't make this one.I Will be walking the burning sands in Nags Head N.C. that weekend to become a Shriner, but I will be there in spirit.

The Saluda Shrine Club has the best SC Style BBQ compared to anywhere.

BTW
The Georgia Gang always Car pools to Saluda and this year I hear they have a new Mule The trip should be somewhat faster for them, maybe slightly over 2 days.

John...we've been playing with the idea of going with a two mule rig. We figure it will cut travel time down to just over a day and a half! We could make it a lot quicker if Wayne didn't have to stop so often. Wish you could be there, should be a goodt one.

Roger
Is that two mule rig gonna be one pulling and one pushing?

Wayne is OLD and OLD folks have to go potty more often than young ones like you. Have a little respect for one of your extreme elders. Still , I would like to see the OLD Phart and and the rest of the Georgia gang.

BTW
I have a license to pick on the Georgia gang, having been born in La Fayette, GA.

Wayne is a youngster compared to me. But I'm purtier than he is!! And yes, I have to stop tuwhyyyst as much as him do. Gotta prostate as big as a grapefruit a squeezin' so hard that I would slow down a snail if I had to make the trip

Roger is young and handsome, and will never grow old. He is also an incredile steel guitar player. His playing is ONLY exceeded by his being a gentleman.

May Jesus richly bless Wayne, Roger, you and all the rest of "yuse guys" that haven't a clue what weeuns is a talkin about,

John...we may be a little behind times, but we know an all pull system has a lot of advantages over a push/pull system! No flames Emmons P/P fans, it's all in good fun to promote Buddy & Charles in their great show. And yes, John, you do have a license to be included in The Georgia Gang, it's a blood thing.

Carl...you're making me blush! THANKS!!!

Wayne is PURTY, His Momma told him so.
but she used to hide him in the closet when company came.

and BTW litle silly things like this keep Buddy and Charles show invitation right up on top just like its supposed to be.

You can tell I'm not too bright, I had to go off and think about that post I made about one mule pushing and one pulling. Didn't even realize that I was opening the Push-pull can of worms.

Would a U12 be a 12 passenger wagon with an unlicensed mule? or D10 = 10 passenger wagon with two mules or S10 Single Mule 10 passenger

Well as usual I'll be driving the lead mule from GA. All the rest can pile in the back seat, except baldy. He uses his shiney head to keep the windshield clean.

Seriously this is a "great" show even for (as Herby tells me) an "average" player like me.

I have only missed 5 shows in the past 10 years and they keep getting better.

But I have yet to figure out how or why I became the MC, but at least this way, I get to play till I'm ready to quit. No one to use the hook on me. hehe

You're not saying that Smiley doubles as a mule sometimes, I've heard of Cross Dressing, but this is something Else.

Man Buddy just look what you have started.
I'm still coming to Saluda. It is the best Little Steel guitar show in the South. Hurray for Buddy & Charles and the Shirne Club for having this for us to get together.
