These items were sold to the first person who said "YES I`LL BUY THEM" not the first person who said " I`M INTERESTED"

I`m getting a lot of nasty e-mails from a person who beleives was quote "You Done me wrong"......I had a lot of replies for these instructional DVDs/Books and the first one said "I`m Interested" The second one (2 min. later) said I`ll take them. I told the promised buyer I would give the first caller an hour to reply back with an answer. I wait over 2.5 hours and then sold them to the 2nd e-mailer. If I would of sit there and waited, it might of not ever happened and I`d of lost the promised buyer. You tell me if I did anything wrong and should be treated like a dirt bag???...Jim

In the bartender business, the first money placed on the bar pays for the round, regardless of which customer says "Hey, I'll get this one."

You did the right thing. Years ago, a picker (also a wll-known Forumite) said he'd buy a Fender steel from me, we had a deal, etched in stone, take it to the bank, etc. All the crap. I had other offers come in after his that I turned down. Then I never heard back from the guy. After the time it took trying to reach the guy with no success, the two other offers got satisfied by other sellers, and they went away.

Fortunately, the original "non"-purchaser hasn't had the cojones to make offers on anything else I've had for sale.

"He who hesitates, is lost"... or loses, one or the other.

Similar thing happened at a steel show. A fellow, not a regular customer of mine, was interested in one of my C6 courses, but said that he didn't want to carry it around and would come back later. I told him I only had one left and he should probably buy it now and I'd hold it for him. This he did not want to do. He walked off and I subsequently sold the course to someone else. When the first fellow came back on Sunday, I had to tell him another guy didn't mind carrying it around and bought it from me.

Buyer #1 understood, though, and was gracious about it. He later purchased one off my website.

There is a saying. "Money talks and Bull---- walks."

People say they will buy something and them flake out all the time. NOBODY can be expected to but take the $ when it's offered. James, you did nothing wrong, and don't deserved to be chastised.

There may be a win-win solution to this. There is a software application called "Toast" that will copy CDs. I often make a copy of my favorite CDs to play in the car

If this program can also copy of the DVDs (I think it can, but I've not tried.) Jim can make clones and send them to Tammy.
