DON HELMS

INDELIBLE STYLIST AND RECORDING ARTIST WHO BROUGHT THE UPPER OCTAVES INTO PROMINENT USE AND GAVE THE "HANK WILLIAMS" BACKUP IT'S ENDURING RECOGNITION. A "DRIFTING COWBOYS" ROAD MUSICIAN AND STEEL PIONEER FOR FOUR DECADES.


BORN: FEBRUARY 28, 1927 NEW BROCKTON, ALABAMA
INDUCTED: 1984

FOR THE NEXT 14 YEARS WITH MORE THAN 2000 SESSIONS, AND APPEAR ON MANY
MAJOR TV SHOWS. A MASTERFUL PERFORMER WITH EQUAL FACILITY IN BOTH
POPULAR TUNINGS. HIS 12 INSTRUMENTAL ALBUMS, DOZENS OF INSTRUMENTAL

Don't miss this one if you are in the area. Go and support Buddy Walker and wish him well. And John, tell Don we still eat tons of fresh boiled shrimp here in Biloxi, just like in the good ole days when Don came to town to play at Sie's place with Hank.

Well, I have re-tubed my old Fender pro and changing my effects to 2 lexicon's. So it will be the Session 500,Fender Pro (modified),MXR 10 band eq, 2 Lexicons,
Boy they sound good in my music room. So look out Saluda here we come.

I hope the Feud on The other Saluda post doesn't spill over here. Its all we can do to keep Tommy Dodd and Bill Ferguson seperated.
