We have met on a couple of occasions; I tried out for "Pikesville Rye" once years ago as a singer/guitar player. Band picked someone else. More recently, we met at the Wheaton American Legion. I was playing with "Lost Memories" a country and oldies band. I was just packing up my Mullen when you arrived, so I guess you didn't hear me play steel. I play guitar and sing and would love to meet some interesting folks who like the classic country sound. Be wel, drop me a line sometime, Tommy (my name also) _________________ Mullen S-10, Fender Vibroverb, Goodrich pedal, Fender Strat with Joe Barden pickups, Lee Oscar Harmonicas, Zane Beck S10 |

Hay Tommy,
I haven't forgotten the invite from you and Paul Wagner to drink a few beers and talk about the old days down at your hangout at River Bend. I haven't been there yet, but from some of the stories, sounds like Butcher Holler

Tommy,
I stopped down at the Longbranch a few days ago. Did you look at the property across the street? No doubt you`re in West Virginia . I'll come down to watch you guys if you get booked, but I have no plans on playing any bars when I get my few chops back. Heck... I could hardly get my LDG in the back of my van it was so darn heavy. Getting old[er] sucks. My muscles don't work like they use to.
See ya,
Jeff |

Jeff: I still carry a D-10 push/pull Emmons. I use a hand truck by standing the case on it's end. I even use the hand truck for the amp. as well. Since I've retired, I practice every day. I have to, to keep up with all the new material. I'm filling in with different bands. I have to play with two bands today, one at a senior center in Glen Burnie from noon till two, and the second is at a shopping center in Columbia from six till eight, and then I'm heading back to River Bend Park. I think Paul and I are playing at another senior center in Tanneytown on Sunday. I'm glad to get all these jobs, while I can still do it. Most of my jobs, I get to work with Chick Hall. If you don't know who he is, let me tell you, he is one hell of a guy. He is a great Telecaster player, and he charts out everything for me. He allows me to play as much or as little as I want to in each song. Working with him is a real pleasure. He has so much etiquette. I'll catch up with you at some point. Thanks, Tommy..... |

Hey Tommy,
I'm a pedal steel guitar and regular 6-string player based in DC. In addition to playing around DC, I also get up as far as Baltimore and Frederick, as well as throughout NOVA.
Where in Maryland are you? And are there any good country jams around here still?

Tommy A. I am a good friend of Dave Chappell excellent Tele player in the DC area I might let him know. Also I have met Chick many times w Dave Chappel but havent seen him too much since the Surf Club closed and Chick moved to DE. He knows Dave Chappel really well and has played with him, and you're correct what a gentlemen.
Im 53 yrs old love classic country/jazz etc. I have played Tele for many years but not gigged much, sat in some but seems I kinda missed the window as I didnt get real serious until my 40s. Anyway I had a mild stroke which has kinda left my dexterity in my left hand a little lacking and am considering PSG as its been an instrument I have always loved. Besides there's a million guitar players out there.. Any quality teachers of PSG in Maryland that can take on a beginner?
