In recent weeks there's been several threads about strings and the name Jagwire has come up. Well, I'm gonna start another one.
Earlier this summer, I started using Jagwire strings exclusively, for my S12 Emmons. To concurr with other Jagwire string users, I think they're the best I've ever used.
Last week, when changing my strings I discovered something that has never happened to me before. One of the string 's gauge was not the size as marked on the sleeve. No big problem, I just checked several of the other Jagwire strings and all were ok. So, I called Jagwire to let them know of the minor error I discovered. Danny Hullihen acknowledged the problem and appologized along with offering two replacements for the mis-marked string. That, in itself, is evidence of a good company and good customer service. However, in this case, Danny not only promply sent out the strings, he also included an additional full set of strings in the "custom" gauges I use for my Emmons.
I wish some of the mega-corporations would follow the Jagwire String Co. example. Danny, thank-you and Regina so much for your help and generosity.

In many ways we are lucky that Steel Guitar is a small market.
We still get great personal service from almost all of the dealers/builders/etc.
Danny is the real deal, a great guy who stands behind his products.

Danny is for sure the King Of Strings !!!
There will never be another brand but jagwire on my guitars!!!!
I even have Holly's guitar player and and Holly herself using them on there personal guitars.. and they love them..

Danny Hullihen needs no help with his reputation but I just gotta tell you this...he is a fair honest man who will always go the extra mile for a customer or just for his fellow man. It's called integrity and he's got a bunch of it. I use Jagwire strings and wouldn't change for love nor money.

Danny H. is a super guy, he makes sure the gages are right and the customer is satisfied with what he gets. I use JAGWIRE on both my guitars and am very happy I changed from the other brand!!

Thanks guys. I am very touched by your comments and for all of your support.
It is indeed a very proud feeling to see, and to have so many of the steel guitar industries greatest names endorsing Jagwire Strings.
Our network of dealers is contiunuously growing, as is the guitar builders who are now installing Jagwire Strings as O.E.M. equipment on their guitars.
To simply say that we are honored would be a bit of an understatement.

I have Jag Wire strings on my Fessenden Steel and I put them on 8 months ago and I have not broken a single one. I just bought two more set from Herbie Wallace at the Tri City Steel Show and I think I better change them. I like them and will stick with them.

| Danny, what's the possibility of getting a a few more guages to choose from on the lower strings? In particular, the lower three strings on a universal are a half-step lower than on a C6, but all manufacturers use the same guages as C6. I think this leads to less string tension and a little less tone on the bottom for universals. I love your .0115 as the perfect compromise for the 3rd string on E9. Why not again lead the field with a few more choices on the lower strings? |

David. Your suggestion regarding different wound string gauges for the Universal tuning is possible. What I need is to get more feedback from yourself and other Universal players as to what gauges you feel would be the best for this particular application.

I had a similar situation where two packs of Ricky Davis E9s had the wrong gauge for string 2. I emailed Danny and he sent me 2 whole new packs free of charge! Thanks, Danny. I just ordered 2 Ricky Davis C6 sets!

I just put on my first set of Jags, nickel
wound on my Le Grande II. Personally I like nickels on my guitar of any brand but the Jags just seem to have that little something extra that you just can't semm to quite put your finger on. My next set will be Tommy White series with the .115 G#. I know that many brands are made by the same string company. Are Jagwires their own commpany? Whether they are or not I am sticking with them and will be buying from the Forum from now on. Many thanks for such a fine string.

| Since March, I have been using Jagwire Strings. They have been phenominal. I am a bit slow to change my strings, about every 3-4 weeks. Since March, I have only broken 3 strings, last night I snapped a .17 at the VFW. I've never used anything that kept the tone as well as these. Thanks to Herby Wallace for turning me on to these......Pat |
