Yeah, Being aluminum if they were solid it might add 10 or 12 ounces to the guitar's weight! |

Uh,,, okay chris. The original question cow dingles is: Is there a difference between the sound of a Pro II and a Pro III because of the aluminum vs. wood neck setup?
I can make either one sound like crap on the right night. Auf viedersehn mein herr... |

The prevailing opinion is that the metal necked Buds have a bit of a sharper tone than the wood necked gtrs.
However, the tonal difference is not so much due to the neck, but rather in the different way that the changers are mounted to the body.
That's a nice ProIII, btw. |

Thanks Skip. that's all I was curious about. Frau ivey doth protest too much. (It's okay, we're neighbors, if I drove north 10 miles...) |

Seeing as I started the thread, I sorta know that. Let me prephrase that, my little glockenspeil...
"I saw a Pro III Custom on ebay this morning with aluminum necks. Do these guitars sound substantially different than my Pro II? Are the necks hollow like an Emmons?"
CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW??? |

That ain't nothing 8 Margaritas, 5 joints, and 5 girls dancing naked on the beach in Tahiti can't fix... Oh yeah... He's playing his steel guitar and catching some rays... or course...just to get rid of the paleness!
BTW,Don't forget the morphine drip!
Then when he gets well we can all tell him what a PITA he's been! |

I had ordered aluminum necks on my Pro III, when I had it. And when I bought my Emmons,it also had aluminum necks. The necks do make a difference as far as quality of sound. I personally don't care much for the wooden necks. But it all comes down to personal preference. As I've said before, Isn't this a great country or what?
