It's time again for the Tri-State Steel Show in Washington, PA. The dates are April 24, 25, & 26, 2009. That's the last weekend in April. It will be held again at the Ramada Inn, 1170 W. Chestnut Street, Washington, PA. just off Exit 15 of Interstate 70. We have a great line up again this year, which will be posted later as we get closer and more players are confirmed. The hotel is now taking reservations. Rooms are $69.95/ single or double. You must call the hotel directly(724-225-9750)and tell them it's for the steel show to get the rate. Plus it helps the show. Online reservations are not available for the show. The deadline for reservations is April 10th to get the show rate.
For information you can call me at 724-222-1894, or 412-217-0201.

Yes, I talked with Jim Thompson a couple of days ago and I will be coming back to this great show. If you haven't been to one of Jim's shows, you need to come as it is great show and first class in every way. Jim is working on the player lineup now and sounds like it will be another great one, so I hope to see many of you there.

Always a great show with great friends and great players. Can't wait to see the lineup. Jim always has a long list of Steel Guitar Hall of Fame players and others that will be.

Along with some great local players like Rick Troyer, Mike Meese, Wayne Hetzler, and others, The Great Herby Wallace will be here along with, Mike Sigler, Sonny Curtis, Danny Hullihen, Carco Clave. Our Great staff band with Alan Coldiron on bass, Jim Hartley on drums, Roger Hoard on lead, Linda Griffith on keys. More will be added as they are confirmed. Get your hotel rooms soon, as we were only able to block off 70 rooms this time.
Tickets will be going on sale the last week of Feb. More to come on that too.

Hey Friends,

This is truly one of my favorite shows. Jim always has a great lineup of players, and the way things are shaping up, this year will be no exception. It also gives me a chance to work with one of my favorite rhthym section partners, Alan Coldiron. From the first note we played together a few years ago, it just worked.

Also, it's always a treat to work with Herby, one of the all time greats. Then when you add Mike Sigler, Sonny Curtis, Carco and all the others Jim mentioned, you've got the makings of a really great weekend. I'm really looking forward to this one.

See ya there,
Jim

As always, this is an absolutely fantastic show that Jim puts on, and the line up of artists are some of the best in the business. I am indeed honored to be a part of this show again this year, and I'm really looking forward to seeing all of my many really great friends there.

For you early birds, Mike Sigler will be doing a 2 hr Q&A seminar from 10AM 'till noon, on Friday morning, with lots of great ideas and tips. He will be sharing some of those hot licks he uses along with some great ideas about tone and technique. Please pre register so we will know if there is enough interest. Cost is $20 payable at the door. register at steelplyr@yahoo.com
Add Gene Fields of GFI Guitars to the list of players also. GFI will also have a room to try out the fine guitars too.

Thanks Danny and Tamara! Ya know, someone ought to post a glossary of all the SGF abbreviations so all the newbies (like me), can learn them more quickly. Do they make a "Steel Guitar Forum For Dummies" book???

Adding to the list of players for the show are , Chuck Campbell, Mike Auldridge, Phil Perry, Ray Walker, and Jim Cohen. Chuck Campbell will also be doing a BIAB seminar on Friday afternoon for those interested. This will be a great addition to the show this year since more and more people are using it to practice with and to record with. He will also have copies of it on hand for sale too.
