How in the world could anyone top that?
Also, Conway was at the top of his game back then. What a combination! |

To my ear John was still at the top of his game with the Time Jumpers. IMHO, the TJ's are not quite the same without John. John had heart, feeling. Soul, and extraordinary technic in his playing. He was sort of the Segovia of the Steel Guitar, getting better with age. |

On Archie Nicol's clip, if you look under the left hand side of the riser John Hughey is sitting on, you can spot an amplifier with a square aluminum frame in the upper left hand corner of the amp's front panel. This looks like a Sho-Bud Dual Channel("Christmas Tree")amplifier which also has an aluminum frame on the front panel which houses the control panel and preamp. |

Thanks Tay, this brings back a lot of memories. To tell you the truth it brought a lot of tears. My wife wondered what was the matter, til I showed it to her. There was a guy in my band about that time by the name of Buford Smith, that could sing real close to Conway. He later Joined the Allman Bro. Band. Ended up dying in Detroit, Mich. It just don't get any better than this. This is TRUE HARDCORE COUNTRY MUSIC, like it should be today in my opinion. A Pickin' Bro. Doyle |

OOOHHH!! Hubba hubba, grrrr grrr, arrrgggh!!.
Boy that brings goose bumps to my arms and tears to my eyes. My favorite singer, my favorite steel player, singing one of my favorite songs.... Don't get any better than that.
I wonder if Conway would have been as popular, as good, or lasted as long as he did if he didn't have John. I can't think of another player that could have matched so well with Conway. |
