Hi everyone,
Just wanted to show you my new Lazy River weissenborn made by Rance White from North Carolina. I find it absolutely stunning to look at and its sound even more beautiful (hopefully I’ll get a recording on youtube before long so you’ll get a chance to hear it).
I asked Rance to do it in the style of the old weissenborn style 1’s as in all koa wood, no bindings, the three concentric circles around the sound hole, the single dot fret markers as well as the bat shaped (ebony) bridge, the narrow shaped head and vintage-looking tuners.
Rance was very nice to take care of all of my special requests and I really can’t recommend his work enough. And aside from making amazing weissenborns he is an extremely nice guy who has been a pleasure to talk to all the way. Also, (in pure Academy Award fashion) I would just like to thank Steinar Gregertsen and Fred Kinbom who helped steer me in Rance’s direction a good while back when I was deciding where to get my weissenborn.
Now, to the pics! I had to throw a bunch in here. The last one is the weissenborn in its “natural environment” . Oh, and there’s a K&K western pickup inside it which sounds great.
Cheers,
Hans |

Congratulations on your new Lazy river Hans!
That Koa is beautiful!
I hope you enjoy finding the voice of this new guitar!
You can be sure this instrument's sound will sweeten when the wood opens up with some playing-time!
Can't wait to see/hear a clip! _________________ www.hollowneck.com |

Hans, that's a beautiful guitar and I'm sure it sounds awesome as well.
I got my walnut/spruce Lazy River in November and even though it's the basic bare-bones model it still looks really good. I made the decision after several lengthy conversations with Rance and a personal recommendation from Steiner. The sound is good but has yet to sing like I hear these guitars do after they open up and that's why I've researved my comments on the tone. I have a K&K in my dreadnaught and I plan to put one in this gitar as well. _________________ https://markmansueto.bandcamp.com/

Terry, Thanks for posting the picture of Rance; it's good to have a face to put with the voice on the phone. |

That guitar is gorgeous.
I love that it has no binding it has that really cool vintage look like some of the older ones I've seen in books, a real elegance. The Koa is stunning Great guitar Hans |
