I have seen a couple of double neck six string laptop guitars for sale on eBay in the past, I'm wondering if anybody else has seen these and can tell me who might be making these? Are they any good? |

The only ones I've seen have been either high priced vintage guitars like the Fender Stringmaster, or cheap Asian imports like the Artisan-style lap steels. Without knowing which auction(s) you're referencing, it's hard to say whether the guitars in question are worth it or not. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

like this?
I bought one and stripped it down:
replaced everything, made bridges and nuts:
ended up with this:
Out of the box it was awful. I bought it as is with "electrical problems". It did not work, the wiring was horrid..the nut was cheap wood. There's a few dings in the finish.
I put in new jack, wires, pups, pots, knobs, caps, switch and bridge and nuts. It ain't a bad steel now,
the lipstick pups from GFS are pretty good.
AFTER FIXING; Only two complaints. 1)the scale is shorter then I like, 2) both necks are in plane, meaning it's a little awkward to play the far neck.
I play it on a cheapie keyboard stand and it works well enough.
I wouldn't bother getting one unless you are wanting to rework it a little. It was a fun project. |

Did you get that from an individual or did it come from a shop or store vendor. I've only seen these on the eBay a couple of times. I was thinking about possibly buying one. |

I got it from "TropicalMoonMusic" on Ebay. It sells under the name "Tennessee". They sell some really weird Made in China Instruments.
I do not endorse them in any way. I got my lap cheap from them, less then 80 INCLUDING shipping (They seem to get people with shipping costs! Beware) and it was as adverstised, in that it didn't work.
Like I said a fun Project, and I'm happy with the results, but out of the box? Junk! So beware and good luck. Post your results if you do get one and rebuild it. |

Yep. Same as the Rogue or Artisan ones.
(Which, if I remember right is really 20.875", so not quite 21...I think.) |
