Someone posted a reproduction of an old B&W telecast on youtube of Jerry Byrd playing Estrellita on a Rickenbacher.
Does anyone know where I can get the tab. of his arrangement of this tune?
Are his arrangements (tabs.) available anywhere, now that he has passed?
Many thanks, Rick |

The answer to both of your questions is Scotty's Music of St. Louis, Mo. They're on the web and in the phone book. _________________ Amor vincit omnia |

Thanks for that link Andy. I had missed the thread.
What an innovator Jerry Byrd was __ and, although
I'm sure he worked hard, I believe his music was instinctive for him.
To play that tune with the forward slants in the low register, the split string triad,
and harmonics with such poise (and probably on live TV, at that time)
exemplifies his true genius. |
