Check this out. This Touch Guitar has a mellow tone to it. (Warr Guitar)

You tap on the strings with both hands and music comes out - hopefully. Randy's been pecking on that Stick since they were invented. In the mid 80s I used to see him every Monday up at a steakhouse across from the Baked Potato and he was a scary monster back then. To hear him tell it it's just a big guitar. They're strung up kinda weird that's all. The Chapman Stick was the first one but the Warr has been out a while now and a lot of Stick players including Randy have gravitated to them because they're not as clacky and more guitarlike in tone. Randy moved up to central California for a number of years but I think he's back in L.A. these days. I last spoke to him a couple years ago when he came in a joint I was playing and caught a couple sets.
