Was talking to a friend the other day and he mentioned x number of a certain car produced. It got me to thinking about the push/pulls. Anybody have any idea about total numbers of each style of the push/pulls? I'd like to be able to say I own one in xxxxx of Emmons Push/Pull guitars ever made.

Hey Whip,
I think Bobbe Seymour gave a specific number awhile back in one of his weekly newsletters. I'll try to check with him and get back to you. Otherwise I'm pretty sure Herb Steiner might know.

Thanks Nick. Maybe we could have a contest to see who has the highest serial number and figure it out from there. Laughing

I appreciate everybody's vote of confidence in matters Emmons, but I don't have a clue as to how many PP's were made.

But I will venture a guess and say "lots."

at about 3 a week or 150 or so a year.
Tom may be close, I've had 4 of them, that's my contribution. Two D 10's, One S10, and one S12.

Wouldn't it be nice to know How many Pedal Steels each of the builders made in this country?.

Zumsteel, Mullen, MSA, Emmons, Carter, GFI, Fessenden,ShoBud,Howard, Thomas,Wheeler,Rains, Desert Rose, ShoPro,Jackson,RusLer,Zane Beck, Magnum,MCI, EMCI,. I must have missed some. that would give us a pretty good idea...al.Smile

Erv-I missed more than that, I know. There was sure more than 20 builders.
But how could I ever forget Ed Fulawka? I met him and his wife at the Grand Rapids show years ago. Spent a lot of time with him, and he showed me all his great work undernearth on his guitar and I played on one. He does a beautiful job. I liked the idea for the two right knee levers working each neck by pulling a lever out. Ricky Davis had a Beautiful Fulawka with that on it. Great idea....Happy New year..al.SmileSmile

erv-Beautiful Guitar. Notice that I did not include a fine guitar Excel and the Fulawka as I said, "built in this country.

But that's all right, let's include them both, OK? There is many more foreign built steel guitars out there that isn't listed.Happy New year...al

So, 2546 including Little Buddy's. Is that a serious number? To think that the most talked about and sought after Pedal Steel of all time only have 2546 in existance Shocked That staggers my mind. WOW....WOW.....

Tom
I knew you were just joking and that number was bogus, but this being the Internet and all, you've really got to be careful about silly stuff like that.

Like the guy I know that's hoarding over 70 Emmons D-10 wraparounds from 1965... with consecutive serial numbers and red flocked undercarriages... and I can't get him to part with any of them, lest the price on that model goes down.

BTW, forumites: "Little Buddy's" were not Emmons guitars. They were student models made by Freeman Cowgar in Detroit back in the 70's.

It would be nice if some energetic, fanatical, Emmons lover would compile a list of push pulls and their serial numbers.....

Al and I are thinking the same train of thought:
For instance, 3 a week, 12 a month, 144 a year, multiply times 20 years, (1964- 1984), equals 2,880 guitars. So I could see it being a smaller number but doubt anything higher, what do you guys think?
