I know this is going to wind up being a dumb question but how does the Webb strap connect at the rear of the dobro? All I see is a thin cord loop. The neck end is obvious, but the rear one has me stumped.

If it works like the Webb guitar strap I had, you hook the loop over the strap pin and then sort of crank the end of the strap around so that the loop twists tight to the pin.

Lynn,

Thats such a small loop! Can it be trusted with a $2500 dollar Dobro? What a crazy setup for a fifty dollar strap!

Hey John, I have the 3" Webb strap, and I am pretty sure the attachment is the same...??? Mine has a "button-hole" like any regurlar strap to attach to the endpin, and as far as I knew the loop was to attach your lead to if you were using a pickup?

Does your strap not have the buttonhole to attach to the endpin??

I wanted extra security so I installed a schaller straplock at the endpin...I haven't worried about the guitar falling since then!

I wouldn't trust it. I've got Schaller strap locks on my Poff straps.

The Webb strap has a slit for a standard button. Look a couple of inches above the "safety loop".

Another vote for Schaller strap locks. All of our guitars have them.

Thanks Howard,

Being a new strap the slot is barely visible.

What is the function of the safety loop?

And what is a Schaller strap lock? Sounds like I need one.
