R.I.P. Steve Van Gelder

I just got word that multi instrumentalist and vocalist Steve Van Gelder has succumbed to pancreatic cancer after a valiant battle. He was in his mid-50s I'd say,and was a fixture in L.A. country bands for the last several decades. His fiddle,banjo and guitar have graced many recording sessions in my studio.He and his wife moved to Hawaii a couple years ago,bought land and were all ready to kick back and enjoy the good life. Greatest guy you ever met.
Go figure.......
