I stumbled onto a track sheet for "Desperado" from the Eagles that is very cool--16 tracks of genius...(and this just from coming home from mixing a 64+ track project...Smile)

WOW...that's cool!

The thing that stands out most to me is the fact that the drums are panned and mixed all live. No control of relative levels or individual EQ after the performance in the studio. Am I reading that right, John?

Also it looks like the backing vocals were recorded in stereo?

Drums to stereo, that's the way it looks...Smile

Background vocals were most likely sung and doubled--then panned in stereo, not stereo miked.

I am going to see if I can dig up some of my early track sheets from my 16 track days (bought a 3m M56 16 track machine in 1978--it's still going at another studio here in town...Smile)
