Hey Ron, what ever happened to the "planned" Bobby Garrett Hall of Fame you were talking about last year or so? Thanks!

Rick Garrett

P.S. Sent you emails with no answer and tried to phone a couple of times. So I thought perhaps a post here would bring me up to speed and Thanks again.

Thanks Ron for that answer. I'll be most interested, when the time comes of course.

Mr. Neeley, Im not a member of either but its my understanding that Ron was given the money, by the RCSGA membership to register the name as Rose City Steel Guitar Association. Then when the election was held he wasn't voted in as President and so he got upset about that and said he would have nothing to do with the members and since HE was the one who actually registered the name at the courthouse (with members funds) he listed himself as owner of the name Rose City Steel Guitar Association. Then when he wasn't voted as pres. he refused to give the club the name he had registered and has indeed claimed it as his own. If I have the facts wrong I am sorry but according to what I've been able to learn, this was the chain of events. Maybe you're still a member of the East Texas Steel Guitar Association. I would ask Mr. Charles Tilly. He's the man who was voted in as president in the first place. God Bless.

I am a member of this forum and I have two steel guitars AND I live here in Tyler where you live. That makes me part of the Steel Guitar commnunity whether I play steel or not. I also have every intention of being a member in the ETSGA so I have more than one interest here. Thanks again Ron.

P.S. I could be misinformed here. As I posted in the last post, this is simply what was told me by someone in the know so to speak. I was told the name was purchased with club members money. Good luck anyhow

Whoa! Let's see if I understand this correctly.

People joined the "Rose City SGA". It changed its name to "East Texas SGA", so those people are now members of the "East Texas SGA". A new "Rose City SGA" is starting a membership drive, and planning a steel show.

Is that right?

Ron has resigned from the Forum. I'm closing this topic at his request.
