WOW...What a tone. I want to share my new setting,
this has always been a back up amp & haven't played it that much. This has the Ken Fox mod these are the settings I'm using now.
Pres. 6 Tremble 4 Mid 4 Shift 7 Bass 8
I raised the presence & raised the Tremble
& now have the mid up to (4) & moved the shift up to 7 Big difference, from where I was at. This is the Old Peavey LTD w/ the silver knob version.
Now I know why Dickey Overby loves his.

Hi Stu
I'm using the Lexicon RV-7 Hardwire pedal the new one. The settings on it: Level 2 O'Clock Liveness
2..or so & Decay Almost 2:30 & Hall Reverb.
I'm also using a Line 6 Echo Park for analog Delay.
I also switch between the Echo Tape delay from time to time. The Line 6 has a Echo Tap, Digital, & Analog switch.
Special Thanks to Brad Sarno for his Input on those pedals a while back. No more Boss Pedals for me.
Playing threw a Fessy w/ LXR-16 PU
No more toys for me till after Christmas.....
Merry Christmas every one. |

Autry..
Thanks for the settings. I agree that these are great amps for both steel and six string. What changes to the amp did Ken's mod make. Mine is stock and sounds great as is..
Thanks

I have one (a plastic knob model) that I bought new in 1980, and it still looks like it did when I carried it out of the music store in Arlington, Texas. I use if very little, and the last time I turned it on, it had developed a hum. It is long overdue for a cap job, at almost 30 years old. _________________ Darvin Willhoite
MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, a restored MSA Classic SS, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Also a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored Rose S10, named the "Blue Bird". Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also have a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks, and a showroom condition Sho-Bud Super Pro. |

I replace every electrolytic cap in the amp. The coupling electrolytic caps are replaced with film caps. The tone caps are replaced with Orange Drop caps.
All together 34 parts are installed in the mod.
Pots are checked and cleaned, I check for cold solder joints, clean jacks and will check the reverb tank and connections if it is sent with the amp chassis.
Cost is $210.00 and return freight. |
